How to Upgrade the Storage of Your PlayStation 5 with the WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD (Installation Guide)

- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Grounding strap (optional, but recommended)
Installation Guide
1. Power Off and Ground Yourself
- Turn off your PS5 and unplug all cables.
- Ground yourself by touching a metal object to discharge static electricity.
2. Remove the Side Panel
- Locate the PlayStation logo on the side panel.
- Gently pull the top right corner of the panel outward and slide it down.
3. Remove the Expansion Slot Cover
- Unscrew the single screw holding the expansion slot cover in place.
- Lift the cover off.
4. Remove the M.2 SSD Screw and Spacer
- Unscrew the screw holding the M.2 SSD slot in place.
- Remove the small plastic spacer.
5. Install the M.2 SSD
- Align the M.2 SSD with the slot, ensuring the notch on the SSD aligns with the key on the slot.
- Gently push the SSD into the slot until it clicks into place.
6. Secure the M.2 SSD
- Screw the M.2 SSD in place using the screw you removed earlier.
7. Replace the Expansion Slot Cover
- Place the expansion slot cover back in position and screw it down.
8. Reattach the Side Panel
- Slide the side panel back into place until it snaps into position.
9. Plug in Your PS5 and Format the SSD
- Follow the on-screen instructions to format your new SSD.
